Royston has lived in Countesthorpe his entire life. Growing up, Royston survived the local primary and secondary schools, played for the local football team, attended the local scouts group and, now, frequents the Countesthorpe pubs as his local establish
Royston’s interest in politics originally stemmed from a vibrant household, growing up if he wanted to get a word in edgeways around the dinner table debates, he had to pay attention to the political scene. Royston first stood for election in the May 2019 Blaby District Council elections, running for one of the three Countesthorpe seats. Whilst Royston didn’t win, it was a massive success as we saw our vote share double, securing 700 votes in the process. He followed it up shortly after by running in the Cosby & Countesthorpe Leicestershire County Council by-election, securing over 1,100 votes.
